Kathy Colt: Art/Craft/Design

Kathy Colt is an Atlanta-based textile and fiber artist/designer.  While working toward a degree in Landscape Architecture in the early 1990’s, she began exploring cloth and fiber in earnest.  Since that time she has continued to create with textile and fiber techniques, including nuno felting, cloth surface enrichment (dyeing, printing and painting on cloth – frequently for her micro apparel line, Petal-una Collection), and more recently, cloth & fiber-based free-form 3D construction.  Kathy has shown in both Atlanta-area and national exhibitions, including the American Craft Council shows in Atlanta and San Francisco.  She has also taught workshops and presented on a variety of topics including nuno felting, surface design on cloth, indigo dyeing, and “slow” textiles.
