Autumn Greetings!!

The big news of the moment:  I have been accepted into the American Craft Council’s San Francisco show!  This multi-day event will be held in August, 2014 and I will be posting more frequent updates in the months to come leading up to the show.  I’m really excited about the opportunity and look forward to showing my decorative fiber work in San Francisco next year.

Meanwhile…..Things are happening in the studio right now, including this new line of felted scarvesthey will be on view in a group Wearable Art Pop-Up show at Signature Contemporary Craft Gallery from October 15 to the 22nd Please see the Upcoming Events page for all the details.

Also coming up and details to come:

November & December, my work will be at Mooncake Studio – I’ll have more images and info about this soon
November 29-December 1 – for the 3rd year I will be a guest at Studio 102 of the Euclid Arts Collective
To be announced:  My annual open studio & holiday sale

Here are some images of some of the latest petal-una pieces (including some new linens)….Also, on view: just returning from a month at SEFAA’s fiberARTlanta show, one of my latest triangular mantles and some new sculptural work!

This piece is inspired by the generous, triangular “mantillas” I saw while visiting Madrid some years ago.  I have had a vision of being cocconed in a felted version for years.  The process of designing one has resulted in an emerging theme for me: working with modular pattern repeats…in this case, building on a favorite surface pattern (a “web-wave” variant) with some light relief elements.

Here are new images of Mariposa autumn work including pics of seasonal resist-dyed scarves and garments, and stitch-textured pieces, and new scarf designs – just completed!  See some of the scarves at the Paideia Art Visions show this weekend (11/17-18/2012 – check the sidebar for this an other show details, links, etc.).  As always, there is more work to come… I am busy on pieces for the Holidays and the Winter ahead.  Hope to see you soon!  (click on the image to open gallery)
